How We Get to You
White Sands runs about 18 miles from our shop in Las Cruces, which puts it on the far edge of what we cover. We don't keep a truck or crew stationed out here - every job starts with a drive from town, same as calls to Mesquite or Vado. That's worth knowing upfront: we're not going to tell you we've got someone around the corner, because we don't. What we can tell you is that the distance is fixed and known, not a guess, so when you call, we can give you a straight answer about the drive rather than a vague estimate. For a spring replacement or an opener swap, that drive is built into the job, not an extra. We'd rather be honest about the miles than pretend we're closer than we are.
This Area's Housing
With around 390 households in White Sands and a median household income of $87,059, this pocket looks different on paper from a lot of the rest of what we service - median income across the broader area sits closer to $50,000, and household counts run higher in the older, denser sections nearer Las Cruces. Newer construction here generally means better-sealed door panels and openers built to a more current safety standard, which cuts down on some of the nuisance calls we get from older insulated doors losing their seal at the bottom panel. It doesn't mean the doors are maintenance-free. Heat in this region is severe enough to shorten the life of standard grease-based lubricant on tracks and hinges, and that doesn't care what year the house was built. Panels here are more likely to be steel or a steel-composite than the older wood-panel doors you'll find on 1980s houses closer to the city, which changes what a dent or a warp repair actually looks like.
